Dear Constant Reader,

I've decided to give a go at yet another new diet product. This one is called Fastin.

Most of the other products that I've tried have failed miserably, and I'm not sure why I believe that this one is going to be any better. I guess I really have learned to live on hope!

I'll let you guys know how this latest experiment in weight loss goes for me. I'm sure it will go swimmingly, and I'll end up with the body of a young Bea Arthur.

Our buildings management has decided that each new suite is going to get brand new Delta faucets.

I found out this week that a real sweetheart of a guy is suffering from Mesothelioma cancer. I am shocked, and saddened.

We're talking about a person that really would not hurt a fly, and now he's being hurt in a most unimaginable way. A way that many of us would never even think would happen to us.

I'd pray for him, but I'm an atheist. Sad.

It's been a long while since I posted, but I simply had to post about this online Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership.

I have learned a lot lately about the difficulties that one can have when even thinking about taking on any kind of post-secondary situation, and I only wish that I had the chance to attend a school that makes it as easy as the folks over at Lewis University Online.

They have a really easy to navigate site, an abundance of helpful information, and a lot of really wonderful courses. I would highly suggest that you give them a shot, and start to make some real, true steps in furthering your education. It's the only way to get the job that pays you what you truly feel that you're worth.

Movies Of 2008/2009

My neighbor, and I have seen a whole of movies over the 2008/2009 season. So many that I can't really believe it.

Here's what we've been watching, and my thoughts on each:

"Bolt": 9/10

A totally fun animated feature from the folks at Disney. Not everything they do is evil, right?

"Burn After Reading": 1/10

A total turd bath from the Cohen's. How far they've fallen since "Fargo". Avoid this giant shit sandwich at all costs.

"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button": 10/10

A new cinematic classic that probably should've won far more awards than it did. David Fincher (director) brings a magical story to life on the big screen.

"The Dark Knight": 10/10

This is totally Heath Ledger's show, and the best of all the Batman films. Ledger's "Joker" will stun you. Brilliant work by all.

"The Day the Earth Stood Still": 1/10

The people responsible for this cinematic abortion should be entirely ashamed of themselves. What happened, Kathy?

"Eagle Eye": 7/10

A rollicking good time, but some of the performances are a little uninspired.

"Gran Torino": 8/10

Clint Eastwood's best directorial, and acting effort ... ever. Even the title song is a delight. Here's the video of the tune by Jamie Cullum:

Sam Jackson has a few great moments, but this film is a thunderous bore.

Hear that? It's the sound of the members of ABBA blowing their brains out. They'd be the lucky ones.

"Marley & Me": 10/10

Not just a movie about a naughty dog. Wondrous all around.

"Max Payne": 1/10

Not only the name of the movie, but also what the audience had to endure with this piece of bullshit.

"Quantum of Solace": 7/10

Not the best Bond film, but pretty darn good. Great stunt work.

"Religulous": 10/10

Fuck God. That is all. Oh, and see this Bill Maher/Larry Charles documentary.

"Righteous Kill": 6/10

Not as bad as some critics have said.

"Twilight": 2/10

A great film if you're mentally challenged!

"Untraceable": 6/10

Standard thriller, but pretty good stuff.

"Cloverfield 2"

I can't believe I spent so much time blogging about the first piece of shit, and now I'm gonna start dedicating my blog to the next piece of shit.
There isn't a sufficient amount of information for me to get excited about ... yet.
Keep your eyes on the skies ... and this blog.

A little snack:

At the premiere of the film, Matt Reeves talked about possibilities on how a sequel will turn out if the film succeeds. According to Reeves, "While we were on set making the film we talked about the possibilities and directions of how a sequel can go. The fun of this movie was that it might not have been the only movie being made that night, there might be another movie! In today's day and age of people filming their lives on their camera phones and Handycams, uploading it to YouTube... That was kind of exciting thinking about that."

In another interview, Reeves states:

There's a moment on the Brooklyn Bridge, and there was a guy filming something on the side of the bridge, and Hud sees him filming and he turns over and he sees the ship that's been capsized and sees the headless Statue of Liberty, and then he turns back and this guy's briefly filming him. In my mind that was two movies intersecting for a brief moment, and I thought there was something interesting in the idea that this incident happened and there are so many different points of view, and there are several different movies at least happening that evening and we just saw one piece of another.

Reeves also points out that the end scene on Coney Island shows something falling into the ocean in the background (pointed out by fans to be in the far right from the view out of the ferris wheel, a bit left of a boat sitting in the water seen falling just as the camera beeps), but didn't give out details. Producers Bryan Burk and J. J. Abrams also announced their thoughts to Entertainment Weekly about possible sequel(s). According to Bryan Burk, "The creative team has fleshed out an entire backstory which, if we're lucky, we might get to explore in future films".

Also, Abrams states that he does not want to rush into the development of the sequel right away because of the first film's success, instead he wants to create a sequel that is true to the previous film.

At the end of January, Matt Reeves entered early talks with Paramount Pictures to direct a sequel to Cloverfield, which would likely be filmed before Reeves's other project, The Invisible Woman. Reeves now said:

The idea of doing something so differently is exhilarating. We hope that it created a movie experience that is different. The thing about doing a sequel is that I think we all really feel protective of that experience. The key here will be if we can find something that is compelling enough and that is different enough for us to do, then it will probably be worth doing. Obviously it also depends on how Cloverfield does worldwide and all of those things too, but really, for us creatively, we just want to find something that would be another challenge.

In an interview with IGN, J. J. Abrams stated that they are still in talks with Paramount. Abrams thought (in his opinion) that it would be fun to work on something different. Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard have drawn up different stories for the sequel, but Abrams is only considering the idea of continuing Cloverfield. Paramount is still trying to seal the deal for the sequel.

In an interview with "Attack of the Show", J. J. Abrams had stated that a sequel had not been finalized yet, though Matt Reeves and Paramount are still in talks. In a separate interview, Matt Reeves had stated the same thing. In the same interview between Abrams and "AOTS", Abrams had said that they might abandon the filming style, stating that he and the rest of the crew would like to try something new.

When asked by Crave Online what the current status is on Cloverfield 2, Abrams stated that at this point, they're still discussing it. However, he still feels reluctant to work on a sequel. However, in the same interview, Abrams said that they were working on something that "could be kind of cool." When asked if it would take place in a different location, Abrams replied by saying that "It would be a totally different kind of thing but it's too early to talk about."

A 13 year old from Texas who stole his Dad's credit card and ordered two hookers from an escort agency, has today been convicted of fraud and given a three year community order.

Ralph Hardy, a 13 year old from Newark, Texas confessed to ordering an extra credit card from his father's existing credit card company, and took his friends on a $30,000 spending spree, culminating in playing "Halo" on an Xbox with a couple of hookers in a Texas motel.

The credit card company involved said it was regular practice to send extra credit cards out as long as all security questions are answered.

The escort girls who were released without charge, told the arresting officers something was up when the kids said they would rather play Xbox than get down to business.

Police said they were alerted to the motel by a concerned delivery clerk, whom after delivering supplies of Dr Pepper, Fritos and Oreos had been asked by the kids where they could score some chicks and were willing to pay. They explained they had just made a big score at a "World of Warcraft" tournament and wanted to get some relaxation. On noting the boys age the delivery clerk informed the authorities.

When police arrived at the motel they found $3,000 in cash, numerous electronic gadgets, an Xbox video console with numerous games, and the two local escort girls.

Ralph had reportedly told police that his father wouldn't mind, as it was his birthday last week and he had forgot to get him a present. The father, a lawyer said he had been too busy, but would take him on a surprise trip to Disneyland instead.

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A Santa Ana teenager was arrested for allegedly raping a 9-year-old boy with a toy light saber. The teen has been charged as an adult for sexual assault.
Police Cpl. Jose Gonzalez says the Department of Social Services notified the Police Department on Monday that the youngster was sexually assaulted at the teen's home on July 16.
The 16-year-old boy was arrested Monday night and taken to Juvenile Hall on allegations of committing lewd acts with a child and rape with a foreign object.
Javier Enrique Perez, 16, was charged Wednesday as an adult for allegedly sexually assaulting a 9-year-old boy. He was charged with felonies for sexual penetration by foreign object by force, aggravated sexual assault of a child, and rape by foreign object acting in concert.
He faces a sentence of 15 years to life if convicted. He is currently being held on $1 million bail.
On July 16, the 9-year-old boy's mother dropped the boy off at a Santa Ana home to be watched while she went to work. Perez was at the home with several other children, ages ranging from 8 to 19.
Perez reportedly held the boy over a kitchen table and forcibly anally penetrated him with a hand and with a toy light saber. Two other boys allegedly watched while Perez and an 8-year-old boy, under the instruction of Perez, assaulted the 9-year-old.
After the alleged assault, Perez is accused of telling the other boys to keep the incident a secret.
Investigators say the teen and younger boy are believed to be acquaintances. There is no information about the alleged victim's condition.
